BG Toot ~

I'm so excited! BG picked up one of my layouts for their gallery!
I've had several cards accepted there before, but they've never accepted my layouts until now. Fun!
(it's this one:)

Father's Day

I borrowed some inspiration from CMK's lilybean for this card - I just love her cards!
I found these papers from Paper Salon at a place near here - and they were just perfect for this project. I added a Heidi Swapp label, and some jute cord (unknown maker)

This second one for my Father in law was lifted from my Stampinup rep. Karen:

MFS has a challenge going on to give a tribute for Father's Day - here's mine:

My dad has been gone for 17 years now. When I was first married, we moved about 2hrs north of here - hubby had a really good government job, and life seemed full of promise. My dad worked in SLC, which was only an hour from us, and once in a while he would come up after work - just him, and stay over with us.
After we had been married for about a year, we learned that we were expecting our firt baby. I started feeling so homesick - I never got to know my grandparents because they had lived in another state all my life, and I didn't want that for my kids!
We discussed it a lot, and decided that we wanted our family to grow up close to our families. (Hubby's parents live in the same town as mine.) So we moved home.
Hubby had to take a job with less pay, so life wasn't as comfortable as it might have been - but we have never regretted that decision.
My dad was pretty strict growing up, but after he retired he changed - he mellowed and softened. He was such a fun grandpa for our kids! I feel so blessed to have these memories, because we got to know him in a way that none of my other siblings did.
Happy Father's day dad.

I have a secret.....

...and this is a clue:

I made this card from scraps today - Making Memories travel papers, and a queen & company flower & brads.

Ding dong the kids are gone!

I'm a terrible mother, but my newlywed kids who have been "camping out" in my scrap-room all month, packed up and went home today....after I did the dance of joy, I started playing!
I had Becky Fleck's card sketches for June, so I decided to start there - all BG papers from the Romani 6x6 pad, sanded around the edges, and a Junkitz Feltz flower.
Thanks for looking!

Grad card...

I went to celebrate my nephew's graduation this past weekend. (More about that on my other blog) As I lay in bed the night before and went over the mental list of things I needed to do in the morning to get ready, I realized that I would never have time to make him a card - so I got up at 3 am to do it.
I put a $20. bill inside folded in the shape of a shirt. When he opened it, he was so excited to see that! He pulled a dollar bill out of his wallet, and carefully undoing mine - taught himself to do it right there in the pizza place where we were having lunch!
...nice to be appreciated.

The Cat's Away....

...so granny played!
Hubby's out of town for a silly work convention, so I have been scrappin'!
I had a bunch of magazine calls I wanted to try for while I was on vacation, but due to technical difficulties I wasn't able to.
This last one was due on the first (Holiday page call), so I thought I'd try to squeeze it in.
I'm sure I won't get picked up, I just have to try these things sometimes! LOL!
...so I'll go ahead and post it anyway - I love this photo of Arilie in her new pj's and the Barbie we gave her for Christmas.
She deserved her own page for this one!

I did this one on my vacation. I found the cutest MM album that is this unusual size (the pages are 6x9) and I thought it would be fun to play around with. I think I'll use this one to display some of my favorite photos.

Drumroll please......

...I actually scrapped this week!!!
Not anything new, I started this project ages ago. Just finished up a few pages from the mini album I'm making about my son and his crazy antics. I probably should have waited until I have the whole album done, but who knows how long that might be! LOL!
