Here's my first

...card for Di Hickman's Sketch Blog. I love her sketches, they're so simple and cute!
I did this one with Basic Grey's Lillykate 6x6 papers. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz "tea dye" ink. The "thank you" lable is a Quikutz die, the rub-on, also Basic Grey. The ribbon is Heidi Swapp.
Thanks Di for letting me play!

* I submitted this card to Basic Grey, but then I posted it all over because I thought there was no way they would ever use it - but they accepted it!...go figure!

...And they're off!!!

I entered a scrapbooking tournament on MFS - why do I do these things to myself?
I must be a glutton for punnishment! Ha ha!!
I don't expect to go farther than this first round, so what the heck?
Here's my first layout - it was supposed to have altered snowflakes on it - I used glitter and bling:

I had planned to use some of the Basic Grey "Dasher" papers, but I decided to use these instead, even though they aren't exactly winter papers. I liked these colors with my photos.

Back from vacation

Just got back from a 4 day weekend in the desert - sunshine - warm - heaven! We took the kids & grandkids (all but the newlyweds - they had to work) It was a really nice getaway. My daughter took over the camera this trip, but she got lots of great photos, so that should keep me busy for the next few weeks.
Lots of fun challenges going up everywhere that I want to get in on too - Lucy's Spring Tournament on MFS (www.memoriesfromscrap.com), Card challenge on Di Hickman's blog (di hickman.blogspot.com)...just to name a few.
Busy, busy, busy!

My First Win.....

...Well, I came in 3rd in a contest where only 3 people entered (so, technically, I came in last) - but I still get a prize! Woo Hoo!
I entered a card and a layout in Legacy Scrapbooks "Diane's Daughters Hard To Lose Contest"

(turns out it was impossible to lose!) With Rebeckah and Libby, friends from another board. Rebeckah won first place, Libby second, and I trailed at third. Still, my first contest prize!

Good Mail Day

Don't you just love prezzie's in the mail? Next to long newsy letters from fam. or friends (which have become extinct thanks to e-mail) - I cant think of anything more fun! I had a good mail day this weekend - I got some fun papers that I ordered (the "Play" line from American Crafts - can't find those around here) and some ribbon and ghost letters that I found on clearance at heidiswapp.com. These are the "Rhyme" ones, and they are just the cutest thing I've ever seen! I had some of the brown ribbon before, and have used up ever last bit of it, might as well have more! I also got some Mickey flip flops from Avon. (I got the bags last time, so I might as well have the matching shoes - right? Scrapbooks etc. has taken over for Scrapbook Answers which went out of print before my subscription was up - I'm liking this one, might have to switch over from CK!....what's fun about this issue is that they have used a lot of these papers that I just got!!....how crazy is that?
I love good mail days!

*Sorry for the repeat from my other blog - this one seemed applicable to both places!)

DW/'07 Challenge March 3/4

My turn to do the Design With '07 challenge again on CMK - this time it was to use seeds on a garden themed card.
I picked this paper for an order at work one day, and thought - hey! this will work for that!....made it pretty quick & easy. The seeds in the packet are real flower seeds - one of my favorites - those little mini zinnias.
Wish I could figure out a way to scan bows without smooshing them flat - oh well!
Enjoy!
