Weekend works

Here's a couple I cranked out last night for a challenge on Scrapbookdoodles - my cute little gran-girlies being happy together. Used some Stampinup papers from my stash.

I've had this one in the back of my mind for a few weeks now - just a page for my "Book of Me" - just in case my kids want to know someday.... (Ha!)
Also Stampinup papers. The photo is a bit goofy, it was my first attempt at taking one of myslef...

Not completely happy with the journaling on this one yet - it sounds like I'm blaming my parents and I think that's such a cowardly thing to do - especially since they're not here to defend themselves any more....got to edit...

It's Over...* Edited*

I made this card for a DT call - and they finally gave the green light to post these now.
I mainly entered because a friend told me I should. I think she has more confidence in my ability than I do!
I do like doing things like this once in a while, not because I think I can win, but just because it challenges me to "push the envelope" a bit and try to do a little better than my "best work." So it's not so much about the competition, it's more like a "creative exercise."
I made this with Basic Grey's Recess 6x6 papers. The design was inspired by a Becky Fleck layout sketch - I just picked it apart and used one element from it.
When I received these papers in the mail, honestly, I didn't like them that much - but after I played with them a little, I totally fell in love!...amazing how that happens! I love how the colors look together, and the textures too - now I think it's one of my favorite lines! Just ordered a bunch in the 12 x 12 size.

Just a quick one today....

I just don't think I can commit myself to that challenge again - I've already tried and failed twice (and all the new stuff from CHA is starting to hit the shelves)...I'm thinking this is just a bad time to be frugal LOL!
But, I was on such a roll - don't want to quit scrapping with my stash, so here's just a quick little one for today.
It's an all girl one - I don't know where the boys were hiding that day! My 2 daughters, and my 2 grandaughters.

Scrap Your Stash Challenge - phase 2....

Um, ah - you know that "Scrap your Stash" challenge I started a few weeks ago, where I was supposed to scrap only using my stash, and not buy anything new until I did?
...Well, see, there was this kit club I joined a while back, and so I had to buy the kit when it came out, and then the same durn place had a 40% off of Basic Grey sale...(that is scrapbookers "crack" to me - they know I can't resist it and would have to have my "fix") and I fell - right off the wagon and into the shopping cart - yup, I blew it big time!
So now I'm starting over (after I shopped today - if I have to start over, I'm going to make it worth my time!) LOL! Maybe I'm just not cut out for a challenge like this!

...anyway - here's layout #1:

#2 Halloween - some fun Stampinup papers I've had for a while, pics from 2 years ago...

#3 Part one of a 2 pager about our First Annual Autumn Party last year.

#4 Autumn party page 2

#5 The grandkids & parents at the Pumpkin farm last year.

#6 Millie - she was always crashing wherever she sat....

Queen for a Day (....or a Month...)

My friends over at Scrapbook Doodles have started doing a "Queen of the Month."
Here's what it's all about:
Do you want to be the Queen of SD? Come and see the Creative Team's pick for our monthly Featured Scrapper, and join us in giving her the Royal Treatment allmonth long.

This will be alot fun to get to know our awesome members from Scrapbook Doodle

Things we will be doing with the QOTM:
*** Get to know QOTM in a posted thread
*** QOTM Blinkie (coming soon)
*** QOTM will be able to post a challenge for that month

Guess who gets to be the first Queen?
Yup, ME! How fun is that? (I know, I was shocked too!)
I guess I'd better get scrapping so I have something fun to share, huh? LOL!

Oh Baby!

This is the first time I have ever done a card just for a magazine call, but I saw a fun template at CK, and this card sort of morphed it's way into my brain, so I thought "what the heck." I have yet to have a card published, but you gotta keep trying, right?

Like I said, I saw this template at CK, and I thought it would be fun to use that shape for the front, but have the back a regular rectangle shape - so it looked like a wrap-around blankie - get it?
I used some left over Dream Street paper, a Lil' Davis chipboard circle, Heidi Swapp "B", Making Memories button, Bazzill scalloped paper, and the tab on the side is a Quickutz die with a rub-on from Paperbilities. Ribbon from JoAnn's - whew! that's a lot of stuff for one little card! ha ha!
